Nabo Farm arose out of an ideal to push food production in a more sustainable direction. By cooperating with us, you support this development. Below you can read more about our ambitions - for ourselves and for our neighbours.

Soon we will be 9 billion. people on the globe.

The increasing population increases the pressure on natural resources. New, efficient cultivation methods are therefore necessary. The method we use is called hydroponics and is typically used by free-range climatologists in the food sector like us.

More in less space

More in less space

With hydroponics and modern grow lights, we can stack our fields in layers. And with a combination of modern software and good old-fashioned craftsmanship, we can grow large quantities of healthy and tasty greens on a very small area.

Up to 90% less water

Up to 90% less water

One of the great advantages of running a hydroponic farm is that the system does not require a lot of water. It is estimated that 33 countries will lack water in 2040. Our crops are certainly water-based, but by keeping the amount of water in a closed loop, we can reuse the precious drops and save on groundwater.

Year-round production

Year-round production

We have developed a digital management system which allows us to control the crops' environment down to the smallest detail. When winter sets in and the days become dark and cold, our plants are bathed in nourishing light and warmth from LED lamps.

Just in time

Just in time

We harvest by hand and deliver by bicycle the same day. This is in sharp contrast to the many resource-heavy transport and packaging methods in the food sector, which contribute to a global food waste of 88 million tonnes of food every year. With us, there is no overconsumption, as we measure the harvest according to the needs of our neighbours.

Return system for all packaging

We recycle all packaging. This is how our neighborhood supports the EU's action plan to promote circular economies.

More green energy, please

More green energy, please

We pay tribute to the political ambition that Denmark must be independent of fossil fuels by 2050. Our production Co2 sin is electricity consumption, and we can get this energy from water and wind

The more neighbors we get, the more sustainable we become.

The more neighbors we get, the more sustainable we become.

Our design makes it possible to farm in the city center; close to the majority of the country's consumers, supermarkets and restaurants. They are the ones we consider our neighbors. The short distance between us shortens the delivery time and extends the life of the crops after delivery.

The more neighbors we get, the more sustainable we become.

We have been involved in the Impact startup at Den Sociale Kapitalfond .
